September 29th, 1920. Judge Bollinger, Putnam Bldg., Davenport, Ia. Dear Judge:- We had a letter from Mr. Mehard in which he says it will be impossible for him to join you people on the hunt this Fall. I suppose you have arranged affairs so that you will be hitting the trail West one of these days. I know Charley is working like a Trojan to get as much done as he can so as to be ready when you people are to go into the mountains. He is planning on this hunt like a boy on a picnic. I hope after the hunt that Mrs. Lane will join Mr. Lane and you, and that you will come over to Great Falls for a day or so where we can have a little visit with you and I will promise to do my vest to sell you the picture that Charley is now working on, because it is the best thing of its kind that he has ever done. It is so far ahead of what I dreamed of that I can talk its praises to no end. But it is the kind of a picture you should have to go with the ones you have. I won’t tell you anything about it but I want to show it to you. Charley joins me in best wishes to your family as well as yourself and is looking forward to seeing you next month. Sincerely yours,
