November 27 1926 Mr. J. W. Theisen, 524 Stonehurst Drive, Pasadena, California. Dear Jake: This house business has been very trying to you as well as to me. I just could not see what I was going to do when Chas. left but now I think I have a plan of life that will need the place finished pretty much as planned. I want to use that gallery to make my living. You see, Mr. Kanst has been able to do it way off on top of the mountains so I feel, with the clientele I have, I should be able to make enough for Jack and me to live on and I will be busy with the thing I know best. So, will you go back to work on the place as soon as you can and get as much done as possible before I get down there, which, I hope will be before Christmas. Then I will be there for the finishing up. If you will let me know how much money you need, I will send you a check right away. You will watch the expenses that slip in because I don’t want the house to break me but I want it to be a credit to you as well as to me. I have looked for a letter from you giving me some idea of the progress and the cost so far. Won’t you please let me hear before I leave for California? If I can get through, I want to drive down. I want to thank both you and Nettie for the message of sympathy. I am looking forward to seeing you all within the month. Sincerely,
