March 19, 1929. Mr. Sid Willis, Great Falls, Mont. Dear Mr. Willis: In a letter from Johnny Ritch, he tells me of the wonderful part you took in introducing and helping to carry through the bill that was passed to make and place a statue of Charlie in Memorial Hall in Washington. I want you to know how happy it makes me to feel Charlie’s friends are doing him such honor. He deserves it and won it by his life and work and all who are leaving their finger marks on the plates that mark memory will be happy to know they have taken part in helping to preserve the record of Charlie’s life in Montana. I want to thank you because I’m very proud of all the things Charlie did. Sincerely, NCR:ED
