Dear Jerry: When I did get around to reading the deed and transfer, by some oversight, there was no mention of Charlie’s gift or oft-expressed desire that his studio and its contents be given to the city. We want that incorporated in the deed so that it will be recorded for the generations that are coming to know that Charlie himself wanted the people to have his studio and, therefore, gave it to them. Just as soon as we get the gift deed ready (it will make, of course, two deeds, in- stead of one), I will send them on to you. Mrs. Trigg and Josephine arrived here yesterday and I am so glad to have them. It seems fine to have some old time friends near me. I’m pretty old to start out making new friends in a new country but sometimes a fellow has to do a lot of things he doesn’t want to do. My kindest regards to you and to your family.
