[1] Jan. 29 -1927 Nancy dear. Frank [illegible] Mother is just back from Italy and I wish you could hear her talk of the life Franko and Buff are having there- like a page from Arabian Nights Tales. Their baby Patricia is like a beautiful little Rose and Frank’s voice is so golden and beautiful in [illegible]. They live in this lovely old [2] villa of fourteen rooms and four baths (modern) have five or more servants they pay all less than I pay our cook! What fun for those dear youngsters. Have just written them begging Frank to keep track of his days so he can write his memories with ease. The Gillespies - do you remember they lived next door – are in Florence too. Did Malc tell you Mr. Mitchell and [3] his wife had tea with us one afternoon - and we liked them so much. That same afternoon Dr. and Mr. Cole came to see our pictures and we found Dr. Cole had bought “Jerked Dwon” at the [Mackerlin?] Galleries where Double Day Page and Co put it for sale!
