November 15, 1939. Mrs. Charles M. Russell, “Trail’s End”, 725 Michigan Blvd., Pasadena, Calif. Dear Mrs. Russell: Mr. Harry Carr called at my office yesterday and we had a long talk with him. Frankly, I liked him very much and I feel confident that he is a man that we could do business with as I know that he is both a straight shooter and a man with a broad vision. I have intrusted[sic] Mr. Carrr with the name of our client and told him all about our hopes which I am sure he will relay to you. I think we have about the only client in the United States who is really interested in establishing a fine museum for cowboy and indian[sic] art and we are going to do everything we can to impress him with the idea that his museum will not be at all representative unless it has the complete collection of Charlie’s paintings and bronzes. I was so sorry to learn that you had been so ill and I hope that this letter finds you greatly improved. With all kindest wishes, Yours truly, [signed] Erwin S. Barrie Manager. ESB: RMM
