[1] March 21st ‘27 Mrs Charles M. Russell Dear Nancy- Thanks immensely for your letter received today enclosing descriptions of the pictures and the verses for “Where Tracks Spell Meat or War”. The descriptions add immensely and the verses are not only beautiful in thought and expression of the subject but express Charlie himself I have just had a note from my secretary in Brooklyn telling me that “Jim Bridger” “Secrets of the Night” and “The Buffalo Hunt” have been received O.K. Also the last lot of [2] pictures (with the exception of your gift to me of “the Story Teller”. If agreeable to you I will wait until after our return home, when I can more easily check up on where we stand, to send you my check for the bance[sic] that is due you. We are having lots of pleasure here showing our friends the Sharps and the etchings of Ed Boreins. In fact we have quite a little are exhibit here when we include the book and I am sure have given pleasure to quite a number of people who know art -and something of the west. You might, if you care to, send “The Story Teller” [3] to me down here so that we could have something of Charlies to show. We leave here for home the end of next week.
