[1] Jan 28th, 1914. Gleichen. PO C.M. Russell Esq, Dear Sir I must apologize for bothering you again about that burial picture No doubt you are perfectly familiar with the burial ceremony. Is it is right that there were sometimes two squaws near the grave An old one & a young one. Also did they place a Sentinel some distance from the grave for a certain period after death. This sentinel was supposed to sit on a Butte & have long hair. Also did they place an Indian belongings beside the horse or grave this picture no doubt will be impressive and if it is historically correct will become valuable in the course of time. [2] I am certainly not writing to dictate but these suggestions I heard & thought you would know whether they were correct. Having every confidence in your knowledge of Indians & their customs I leave the matter entirely to you. Apologize again for troubling you. Kindest regards to Mrs. Russell from Mrs. C. & myself I remain. Your Friend [signed][W B] Campbell P.S. If possible will be in Gt Falls next month & I hope to see you. WBC & then we can discuss the ----- matter
