January 28, 1929. Miss Josephine M. Blanch, Hotel Del Monte, Del Monte, Calif. Dear Miss Blanch: Your letter of the 23d; also a telegram received yesterday. I answered your telegram as follows: “ Have only three Russell watercolors avail- able now stop Big Cat size 27 ½ x 17 ½ price $3800.00- mounted cowboy has roped a mountain lion – fine action. Prairie Pirates 15 ½ x 11 ½ $2000.00 – six mounted Indians riding towards you out of the picture stop. Red men of the plains 16 ½ x 9 - $1800.00 – single figure of a mounted Indian in action stop will send you any or all on approval stop wire.” When I have calls like the one you just sent for a certain kind of picture, it is so distress- ing because they are not available. I have so few and, of course, the chances are that they would be different from what the client would have in mind. Every month the pictures are getting scarcer and scarcer so I felt very happy to be able to let you know I had three that might come within the scope of your prospective buyer. Thank you for the interest you have taken and I trust you will be able to make the deal. Sincerely yours, NCR:ED
