[1] Sept 28th 26 Dear Folks – Doubleday Page have at last settled for “Jerked down” and so, I am handing it ^(the money)^ on to you – with the request that Charley turn himself loose on another one, for me – I would like it the same size as “Jerked Down”, But an entirely different picture – I would like it to be a roping picture, with at least one man Just throwing (I mean at the ^exact second^ minute the rope is to leave his fingers) I would like him roping a full size steer – I would like him to be riding at top speed – down hill. all the rest I leave to Charley – I am sending [2] the money to you now for two reasons first because I have the money now and may not have it so conveniently six months from now ---- Secondly because you may be able to find it handy after just going through the expense of Charleys operation ---- I am tickled to death that you have promised to come to the [symbol of brand or u bisected by L] outfit next summer--- Just Just write me a letter saying that you have read my letter and the check With every good wish to you both [signed] Malcolm S. Mackay
