Dear Mr. Fairbanks:- Will you please give this letter to Mrs. Douglas Fairbanks on the quite without Mr. Fairbanks knowing about it? Then, if she wishes to tell him, all right. Dear Mrs. Fairbanks : - I was so sorry about the way it turned out in regard to your surprise for Mr. Fairbanks with the picture, “The Navajoes [sic]”. I never had anyone see the collection that seemed to get as much pleas- ure out of the pictures as you people did, but we hope he will continue to enjoy the picture now that it is hung in your home. I hope you were able to get Loveberg, of 211 So. Western Ave. to light it for you. Now, little lady, if you want to surprise your husband, Charley will try to make a picture of him as “D’ Artagnan”. We are reading “The Three Musketeers” now and if you will send me some photo- graphs of him where there is a full face, as well as profile, it will be of great help in getting a likeness. You see Charley is not familiar enough with Mr. Fairbanks to know his features without something to remind him. This is to be a gift to you and you can pre- sent it to him if you want to.
