Woods, our Assistant General Freight and Passenger Agent, at Helena, Montana: “See Charles M. Russell, Route Two, Box 223, Pasadena and secure his written permission to take two or three photo copies of his painting Lewis and Clark and the Indians, hanging House Representatives, State Capitol, Helena, for use in fine Oriental Limited booklet we are getting out. Answer by wire quick very important. Above under Mr. Kenney’s direction.” We endeavored to reach today by telephone, or to secure your address, in order that we might get in touch with you, but we were unable to do so, therefore, we are writing you, and would appre- ciate your getting in touch with me by telephone at our expense as soon as you can do so. Mr. W. P. Kenney, our Vice-President and Director of Traffic, St. Paul, Minn., is desirous of written permission to take these photos for use in new fine booklet to be issued, and I would appreciate your letting me know soon as possible.
