[handwritten] 1481 – Carson St. Pasadena Mch.[sic] 3rd 1927- Dear Mrs. Russell:- it was so perfectly lovely of you to be so enthusiastic and sincere over the portraits. Your knowledge of art and the Indians, and their confidence in your judgment did the thing. Their to see your generous and unselfish sprit shown so simply and openly was a pleasure beyond words. Charley Russell would have done that same thing! Anything I have is yours!! For many years I have felt these remaining heads (the cream of all my work up there) would reach the right man, sometime, and now I am satisfied. Mrs. Sharp and I have talked So. American and So. Africa for several years, and I told her if I sold these heads we would go, so you see the pleasure will be long drawn out. We will see you before going into Taos.
