The picture “Bronk to Breakfast” is being shipped immediately to you by Express and is being certified by Custom’s Inspec- tor as in perfect condition. Insurance is being placed by the Express Co. at the usual rate on $4400.00 and this is going through addressed to you collect.. The owner- Mr. Ernest Lane was in from his ranch in the country today and after much consultation has decided to accept the prop- osal of $4400.00, out of which I am to receive my commission. We are not clear as to the commission due you by rights, and until we hear from you we are assuming that you will be able to collect this from your client. I am aware you mentioned in your letter of May 22nd. that as the $5000 at first asked was gross in would come out of this, but since the figure has been reduced to $4400 Mr. Lane assume>s< your client would be willing to pay your commission. Please let me know what you think about this. I know Mr. Lane needs money very badly for his ranch. Thanking your for the way you are handling this. Yours very truly, [signed] W. St. J. Miller [handwritten vertically on left page edge] P.S. Would you be sure to inspect this at customs, and if possible inspect after it leaves Customs. W.St. J.
