April 5, 1937. Mr. James B. Rankin 423 West 118th St. New York, N.Y. Dear Mr. Rankin: In reply to your letter of March 26th, I purchased the six pictures I own from a man in San Francisco, who said Mr. Strahorn had sold his home, fur- nishings, etc., and that these pictures were purchased by some person who had bought the entire Strahorn property. I understood from him that Mr. Strahorn had passed away; in any event he probably is a very old gentleman. If you have Mr. Strahorn’s address, I would appreciate it, since I have occasion to travel on the Coast considerably, I was never personally acquainted with Charles M. Russell, but I do know Mrs. Russell, who lives in Pasadena, California. The six Russells I own are all approximately the same size – about 15 inches wide by 16 inches in depth. I am attaching hereto a photostatic copy greatly reduced in size of the picture that was made for Mrs. Strahorn’s book but never published. I believe it was to have illustrated the chapter in the book relative to the static reproduction when it has served your purposes. Very truly yours, H.E. Britzman. Room 1129 555 So. Flower St. Los Angeles, Calif.
