I am delighted to be able to correctly title the lithographs about which I asked you. Regarding “Carson’s Men” and also the “Indian Grave” picture – I really can’t give you a price on them, though I can assure you that I am interested in both of them. “Carson’s Men” I of course know from the lithograph. The other one I do not recall, but It strikes me as being particularly interesting for my collection inasmuch as it offers a variation in subject. Why don’t you find out what the really very least is for which they might be bought and let me know about it? There is no harm at least in knowing. Katharine and I have just returned from visiting your Phil down in Florida where he has been spending the winter. We had to take him out of school and send him down there with a tutor on account of his having eczema all over his legs. We figured that the sun, salt water, and air free from the pollens of plants, etc., was the best bet to turn the trick –medical treatments having failed. He is “sitting on the world” down there. While we were down there he landed a 7’ 2” sailfish entirely by himself – pretty good for a thirteen year old boy don’t you think? Also he succeeded in having a baby shark try to bite his hand off while he was swimming. Fortunately the shark was so small that he only succeeded in leaving the prints of his rows of teeth. Katharine and I have been considering a trip abroad but I think are going to give it up. We expect to be at the Lake Placid Club as usual this summer.
