[handwritten] Extra [typed] The following three water colors were all made the last year of Mr. Russell’s life and are as fine as any water colors he ever made. “The Bunch Quitter” (Water Color)20” x 30”This scene is laid in Northern Mexico. The equipment of the horse and rider tells you that and of course you know one man has the head rope on and the other is putting on the heel rope. I am glad the picture shows you what action is in it. $3,500.00 “Worked Over” 20” x 30”This scene is laid in the North Country at a little water hole near the foothill. Two riders have come on to a cow and her calf. The calf is almost a yearling and one would naturally suppose, weaned. Someone has worked the brand over. The fellow who changed the brand thought t he calf had left mother. The expression of surprise on both riders faces is very plain. The foremost of the two is riding a young. or green, horse as he is using a hackamore and has a blind facing on it that is lowered while saddling. This is a very peaceful picture suggesting a powerful story. $10,000.00 “Rattle Snakes rattle but Cows ring their Tails” (Watercolor)20” x 30”These are northern cow boys and this old caw is on the fight. She is letting them know she has no intention of allowing them to rope her calf if she can help it. It is sagebrush, flat country with the typical buttes rising up out of the prairie in the north. The drawing, as you can see, is perfect in the picture. [handwritten] 4000.0 $3,500.00
