January 7, 1931 Mrs. Charles M. Russell, 725 Michigan Blvd., Pasadena, Calif. Dear Mrs. Russell: - We enclose a list of the Charles M. Russell bronzes that we have at the Galleries at the present time. This includes your last shipment but we have not received those from the Douthitt Galleries to date. With the exception or a few instances, this agrees with the list included in your letter or June l0th. We do not have the "Last Laugh” ash tray but do have the "Snake Priest" which was not given in your list. You have one copy of "Bronco Buster" - $1000., whereas we have the "Twister" - $1000. Is this a confusion of' titles? The "Medicine Man" was sold to the client who did so much exchanging and the salesman has advised him that we will not be able to make another exchange . We did not use one of Mr. Russell's bronzes for the Founders Show as in checking up we found that we had more artist members than lay members as you know this is a rather poor year. We also do not have "Sleeping Thunder". In y-our letter, 7011 stated there were $400. due on the 3 bronzes that Mr. Lacey sold back in 1928. We have checked our records and find that you have been paid in full. The last payment was made on August 25, 1930. The amount was $200. Would you please check your records again and advise us accordingly. Very truly yours, [signed] Gertrude R. Cummings Gertrude R. Cummings, Office Manager. GRC:RMM Encl.
