Mr. Erwin S. Barrie,
Grand Central Art Galleries,
15 Vanderbilt Ave.,
New York City.
Dear Mr. Barrie:
I did not acknowledge the receipt of the last payment
on account of the three horse bronzes sold last Fall. I know
I will be glad and I’m quite sure you will be when the man has
finished payment on those pieces. It is strange the wealthier
a man is, the slower the pay. I’ve had that experience in my
own affairs so know what you have been up against.
You don’t mind telling me if my bronzes are out
where they can be seen in the gallery or are they stored away?
If they are stored away and you need the room for other things,
I will consign them jto some other gallery until you are ready
to display them. I have had a number of letters from different
galleries asking for bronzes and, of course, I haven’t consigned
to have the bronzes in more than one place but I wish to meet
you half way, In your plan of displaying the things.
My excuse for not acknowledging your letter of August
was that we were going through a very serious forest fire and
for more than a month the mail was not distributed in regular
order so some things were received there, others sent around the
country and finally some were delivered here. I know your
letter did come to me at the Lake but nothing was answered at
that time.
Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
