From Cole, March 18, 1930, two pages, he is interested in "The White Man's Buffalo", but not in Charles M. Russell's earlier paintings of Indians with travois, mentions that he received a photograph of "The Scouting Party" in which "the ponies are of the Shetland pony type with little short legs..."
