Handwritten letter from Charles M. Russell, October 22, 1918, reference to the War and his admiration for the cavalrymen, his feelings about "Kizer Bill", the War and his age preventing him from being drafted; mentions his son, Jack, and welcomes Mehard to his home after Mehard's tour of duty; five pages, illustrations on pages one and three. Matted in cabinet in the conservation lab, copy is in the folder. Five-page negative copy of the letter associated, wrong secondary number given (D.10.1045).
