Scope and Content Notes

Clipping with a photograph of the monument of Chief Joseph surrendering to General Miles. Great Falls Tribune, Oct. 21, 1931. Typed comment at top says, "N'tuckah:--Wouldn't this ross you? Damned if Frank couldn't do as well as this. Note pose and garb of Joseph - nice little plus-fours of Miles, and the cunning leggins, etc. I do not think Miles ever donned leggings in his life. This is the baldheaded limit!!!! Also the velour Fedora hatlet. Heap soldier!" Signed H.P. Stanford.
