On the back handwritten in blue ink is 'Waiting For A chinook' water color size 19"x28" (size of actual painting) and a note 'a chinook is a warm-wind, the only think that would possibly save the starving cattle - winter of 1897-1887 famous as the great destroyer of range cattle in Montana'
