[left side of card] July 14th. 1911. Mr. John McDowell, Gold Butte, Mont. Dear Sir: - Your favor of the 10th to hand and I regret very much that I can not[sic] come up there just now. But Mr. Russell's Brother and family of four are here and as I am house keeper it is impossible for me to get away. Please find enclosed check for $18.00 covering fees for Con Price, Peter Wagner, and E. B. Toole witnesses in my case last spring. Mr. Stanton tells me they were there two days. If you will please get receipts from them so there will be no mixup afterward Mr. Stanton has the bill for the testimony and I will attend to that . [right side of card] I have written Mr. Wagner about the work on my land, I payed[sic] him last yearto[sic] clean my ditches out. I feel sure he will attend to it for me , I have told him about the bridges there is only one I think that across the main road. Don't you think he will do the repair work all right it has been in once so should not be so hard to freshen up . There have been oats raised under the ditch will it be necessary to plant again. I f you would ask Mr. Wagner how things are going over there I am sure he will take more interest when you let him know you are interested. If it is absolutely necessary I will come up there just as soon as the famiy[sic] leave Please find enclosed signed papers for final proof. I want the work done properly it has been there once so must be freshened up. Thank you most kindly for your interest. sincerely , [signed] Nancy C. Russell
