October 7, 1924. Mr. C. F. Kelley, 25 Broadway, New York City. My dear Mr. Kelley: We are arranging for an exhibition of Charlie’s work in New York for the month of January, 1925, and have chosen the Arthur H. Harlow Galleries, 712 Fifth Avenue. I do not know much about this gallery but the location is good and the show room on the ground floor which seems desirable. May I impose on your friendship for Charlie enough to get an expression from you as to the time and place chosen? Charlie and I will come to New York during Janu- ary. We have a wonderful collection of paintings and bronze and I am sure you are still desirous of get- ting some of Mr. Russell’s late work, you can find something that will fill the space you have and will be what you have dreamed of in a Russell picture. Chas. would shake me if he knew I said this to you, but it is true all the same. He has been so happy in his work the past six or eight months and that means good work. Thank you, Mr. Kelley, for any suggestions or opinion you care to give me. Sincerely yours,
