My dear Mr. Kelley: We are arranging for an exhibition of Charlie’s work in New York for the month of January, 1925, and have chosen the Arthur H. Harlow Galleries, 712 Fifth Avenue. I do not know much about this gallery but the location is good and the show room on the ground floor which seems desirable. May I impose on your friendship for Charlie enough to get an expression from you as to the time and place chosen? Charlie and I will come to New York during Janu- ary. We have a wonderful collection of paintings and bronze and I am sure you are still desirous of get- ting some of Mr. Russell’s late work, you can find something that will fill the space you have and will be what you have dreamed of in a Russell picture. Chas. would shake me if he knew I said this to you, but it is true all the same. He has been so happy in his work the past six or eight months and that means good work.
