I know Chas. has in mind an illustrated letter to you that will cover the ground much better than I can. We have just had occasion to write Mr. Mills regarding the proposed book on the expe- dition so I want you to know now that we do appre- ciate your thoutfulness [sic] during the Missouri trip and also felt your hand of hospitality extended to us through Mr. Irvin Cobb during those days at Pen- dleton.
