Dear Charlie and Vera: I am enclosing a copy of Mr. Taft’s telegram which seems to be the main thing the Montana papers cling to. I am sure a great many protests have been sent in to different members of the Commission by interested parties in the State and I am also sure very few of them are being run in the local papers. Your letter of protest, I believe, was one of the first and I think it was one of the most powerful letters writ- ten. I am only sorry it was not sent directly to the Governor. We don’t care if the Lion model is not chosen if something better comes forth. You don’t need to boost for him any more but just use all your poser to help that commission see how important it is to reconsider.
