The Cryer / Charles Marion Russell

Curatorial Remarks

According to Stewart, this sculpture was never cast in bronze during Charles Russell's lifetime. Nancy Russell later authorized Beil and De Yong to restore the original plaster model, which had been damaged, before having it cast in bronze. This particular bronze does not have a foundry mark, but it was probably cast by California Art Bronze Foundry. The base is filled with plaster.
