Cherry wood table with square top / Unidentified
Essay/Description
This desk was owned and used by Lewis Ross (Cherokee Nation).
Curatorial Remarks
This is a Sheridan style table that may be from the 1840s. It was probably locally made. This is a pre-Civil war style of furniture, and mass produced furniture became abundant after the Civil War. The style of manufacture is congruent with the provenance of the object.
