Essay/Description

Triple strand necklace of silver and coral beads with silver and turquoise pendant with single drop turquoise strung on wire. There are twelve bear claws mounted in silver holders.There are nine bezel-set cabochon turquoise stones, all oval except for the drop that is tear-shaped.

Curatorial Remarks

This piece was likely created as a 20th century inter-tribal piece of jewelry. The bear was a symbolically powerful animal.
