Curatorial Remarks
The designs appear to have a Southeastern prehistoric origin. It may have been used as a sash or a belt. Choctaw material culture disappeared in Oklahoma apart from their basketry. This occurred because of traditional religious practices and the spread of Christianity. Material culture shifted with religious practices.
