Essay/Description

A green cotton skirt with elastic waist and two tiers of ruffles: center tier is decorated witha patchwork design of red, blue, yellow, black, and orange. The patchwork band is bordered top and bottom with a yellow strip. The bottom tier is decorated with a red ribbon band.

Curatorial Remarks

Appears to show influence of the ribbon applique technique commonly seen in Seminole skirts.
