I remember there was a crack in the filling of the little ashtray “The Snake Priest”. That does not do any damage so do not worry about it. You know how happy I am that the final debt has been lifted from the Studio. I think you have sown great patience and loyalty to the work you have chosen to do. Charlie’s things in the Studio are very precious to me and to know they are cared for by living hands is a com- fort. I hear far and wide of you courtesy to the hundreds of visitors. I have written Doubelday[sic], Doran telling them that I am willing you should have prints from the col- ored plates used in “trails Plowed Under” but I feel that the reproductions from “Good Medicine” should not be sold while the very expensive edition of the book is still on the market. I have a letter from the sculptor of the bust of Charlie that is being presented to the Memorial. It should have reached you by this time. I am having a pedestal made for it and will bring it to you.
